I developed the visual identity, illustrations, and website design for Harbour Roots Fest, a roots musical festival at The Harbour Bar in Bray, Ireland. I designed the branding in 2018, then updated it in 2022 as a personal project.

Roots music incorporates a diverse range of cultural influences. The brand’s four illustrations represent folk, bluegrass, Americana and country music, which make up the umbrella that is roots music. The logo also consists of multiple typographic weights to represent this range of styles.
The bold, sans serif typography took inspiration from old American country music posters. Set in multiple weights used together and justified, it’s reminiscent of posters advertising for Johnny Cash or Muddy Waters concerts.
